The Museum of Islamic Art in Doha is presenting Uzbekistan: Heritage in Motion, an exhibition showcasing more than a thousand years of Uzbekistan’s artistic and cultural heritage. Organised by the Museum of Islamic Art in collaboration with the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, the exhibition will run until 28 November 2026.

Among the key exhibits are a fragment of the western wall of the 7th-century “Hall of Ambassadors” at Afrasiab, presented outside Uzbekistan for the first time; pages from the 8th-century Katta Langar Qur’an; and a 15th-century carved wooden door from the mausoleum of Amir Temur.

The exhibition also features ceramics from Bukhara and Rishtan, gold embroidery, traditional jewellery, khan atlas, adras, and other works that reveal the diversity of Uzbekistan’s artistic and craft traditions.
