UN Tourism Secretary-General visits the Islamic Civilization Center
A delegation led by Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, UN Tourism Secretary-General, accompanied by official representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan—one of the largest museum projects in the region.
This remarkable complex, whose foundation was laid by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2018, has been constructed based on an advanced architectural concept. Recently, on March 17, the Center was officially inaugurated with the participation of the Head of State and has already attracted the attention of the international community.
Members of the delegation, who were among the first distinguished guests of the new Center, explored its key exhibitions, including the Qur’an Hall, which houses the rare 7th-century manuscript—the Mushaf of Uthman ibn Affan. The presentation of this unique artifact was accompanied by a modern mapping show.
Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais emphasized that the visit holds special significance for her and noted that the Center will become an important point of attraction for both tourists and residents of the country.
