At Homo Faber 2026 in Venice, Uzbekistan was represented not only by its craftspeople and their works, but also by mediators Sabina Djuraeva and Dierbek Abdullaev.
Each day, they welcomed visitors to the exhibition, introduced them to the craftspeople, shared insights into the techniques and traditions of Uzbek craftsmanship, and answered their questions.
It is through conversations like these that a closer connection with culture emerges — when every object reveals the story of a person, a place and a craft.
For Sabina and Dierbek, Homo Faber 2026 was an opportunity to become part of this dialogue and to introduce contemporary Uzbek craftsmanship to visitors from around the world.
