Cooperation agreement between Uzbekistan and UNESCO signed in Paris

On 8 April in Paris, at the Headquarters of UNESCO, the Chairperson of the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, met with the Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled El-Enany.

During the meeting, an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNESCO on cooperation was signed, along with a Roadmap for 2026–2027, outlining further collaboration in the fields of education, science, culture, communication, and information.

The Agreement is aimed at the practical implementation of initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO, held in Samarkand in November 2025.
