On 6 September, a concert by virtuoso pianist Lang Lang took place at Registan Square in Samarkand, accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan under the baton of Alibek Kabdurakhmanov.

The evening’s programme featured Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, ‘Emperor’, and George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

A special moment of the evening came with the encore performance of Uzbek composer Anor Nazarov’s Taronalar Bazmi for large symphony orchestra.
