A meeting was held with Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre

At the UNESCO headquarters, a meeting was held between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Adiz Boboyev, Hokim of the Samarkand region, with Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

During the conversation, the parties discussed ongoing projects aimed at preserving World Heritage sites in Samarkand and Bukhara, including the outcomes of the joint UNESCO/ICOMOS mission conducted in November 2024.

Special attention was given to projects focused on improving public spaces and organizing exhibition displays in Samarkand, aimed at increasing accessibility and safety while fully respecting the principles of authenticity and the preservation of outstanding universal value of the sites.
