Within the framework of the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee, a meeting was held between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, and Adiz Boboyev, Acting Hokim of the Samarkand Region, with Marie-Laure Lavenir, Director General of ICOMOS.

During the discussion, priority areas of cooperation in the protection and sustainable development of cultural heritage were addressed. Special attention was given to ongoing projects in Uzbekistan implemented in coordination with UNESCO and ICOMOS.

The parties emphasized the importance of adhering to international restoration standards during surveys, landscaping, and adaptation of historic sites.
