The exhibition project “Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert” continues its work at the Savitsky State Museum of Art in Nukus.

On the second floor of the exposition are presented works dating mainly from the second half of the XX century. One of them is "By the Sea. Marie-Louise" by Kliment Redko. In 1922, Redko invented a new trend in avant-garde art - electroorganism or luminescenism. Its essence was to convey by means of painting such physical phenomena as energy, dynamics of movement, and the extent of space. Defining light as the highest manifestation of matter, thinking a lot about color as light, Redko tried to embody this energy in his works. Observing Marie-Louise by the sea, Redko pays special attention to her soaring movements and the light around her.

The exhibition will run until December 2025.
