After extensive restoration work and the renewal of exhibitions, Samarkand’s outstanding monuments—the Mausoleum of Amir Timur, Ulugh Beg Madrasa, and Tilla-Kori Madrasa on Registan Square—have been revitalised, carefully preserving the authentic imprint of their era.

Hundreds of unique artefacts—from the manuscripts of Mirzo Ulugh Beg to archival documents relating to the history of Amir Timur—are now also available in a multimedia format.

Samarkand remains a place of power and inspiration.

It is particularly gratifying that the guests of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference will soon have the opportunity to fully appreciate the treasures of the ancient capital of our region.
