A meeting between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Bakhodir Abdikarimov, Director of the Agency for Cultural Heritage , and Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral, Director General of ICCROM, took place in Paris.
The key outcome was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ICCROM and the Cultural Heritage Agency of Uzbekistan.
The document covers four strategic directions: sustainable management of World Heritage sites, modernisation of conservation practices for architectural heritage, development of museums and scientific literacy, and strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia, including intangible heritage.
