The exhibition project ‘Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert’ continues at the I.V. Savitsky State Museum of Art in Nukus.
In 1925, after graduating from the Higher Art and Technical Studios (VKhUTEMAS) in Moscow, Yulia Razumovskaya took part in an expedition to restore architectural monuments in Bukhara and Samarkand. Thus, the artist's post-avant-garde technique began to clearly reflect the plastic images of the East — its colours, lines and character. Upon returning to Moscow, Yulia did not stop and continued to paint scenes from her adventures in Bukhara and Samarkand until her old age.
The exhibition ‘Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert’ will run until December 2025.
