Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan is hosting a major anniversary retrospective exhibition of Ural Tansykbayev. The exhibition features 124 works from the largest museums in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as unique paintings that have never been exhibited abroad before.

Ural Tansykbayev was renowned as an inventor of color: most of his paintings demonstrate an amazing play and richness of colors. The work “Mountain River” (1932) is not often found in the artist's catalogs, but it instantly captivates the viewer with its cozy plot. The painter seems to be observing it from a hill: a wide expanse of water, fluffy tree crowns, and a small quiet village. But attention to detail is abundant here — cattle graze along the river, people work near the yurts, and red flowers bloom profusely in the meadow.

The retrospective exhibition of Ural Tansykbayev is open at the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan (2, Buyuk Turon St.) until November 1, 2025.
